ASSISTED LIVING CARE FACIILITY CITED 3-22-16

The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration says a Pensacola assisted living facility was involved in a negligent patient death. Earlier this month, the agency issued an emergency moratorium on admissions to Alpine Adult Care Center on Louisiana Drive in West Pensacola. The report alleges a number of residents in the 14-bed facility weren’t given correct medication dosages or were administered expired prescriptions. The facility also did not keep adequate records about Do-Not- Resuscitate orders and end-of-life wishes. One patient died last year after what the agency suggests were negligent circumstances. Records dating back several years show Alpine Adult Care Center has been sited numerous times for violations.
