CRIME STOPPERS REWARD CHANGE 3-22-17

Gulf Coast Crime Stoppers is changing the way they will calculate reward money. Law enforcement officers who were working on the case involving multiple murderer William Boyette said after monitoring tips on social media, they noticed people saying they were holding back information because they were waiting for the reward money to increase. But from now on the longer you wait, the less money you’ll get. Tipsters will now receive $5,000 if a murder case is solved within in the first 24 hours. If it goes to 48 hours, the reward drops to $4,000. If it goes beyond 48 hours they will get $3,000. People who want to earn a reward have to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 433-STOP. Calling any law enforcement agency directly means they would not be eligible for a reward.
