The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Department says a 17-year-old Kentucky girl was bitten by a shark in Destin yesterday afternoon. She was swimming in the Gulf behind Sundestin Condominiums near the second sandbar when a 5-foot long shark bit her on the leg. She was taken to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center where she received some stitches, but the injury was said to be minor.
