The Escambia County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the man shot and killed by deputies over the weekend. Marcus Williams was shot Saturday night on Deniro Court in Gonzalez after deputies responded to a domestic violence call on Southern Oaks Drive. Deputies say Williams ran from the scene, then pulled a gun and shot at them. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the shooting, and the deputies involved have been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
