Escambia County commissioners have postponed a vote that could have given control of Rawson Lane – which runs from Airport Boulevard to Brent Lane – to Pensacola Christian College. Commissioners decided to postpone the vote until May 4th because one commissioner was absent from the meeting. The College wants to prohibit public access to Rawson Lane to ensure the safety of student pedestrians, who cross it multiple times a day. However, some residents object saying the action will lengthen their commutes and make it more difficult for emergency responders to reach their homes.
