Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan has filed a response to the County Commissioner’s response to his budget appeal and says the Commissioner’s response resorts to insults, taunts, misleading arguments, and in many cases, outright deception. The Sheriff is asking the governor to force the county to grant about 2 million dollars to address pay compression; $319,00 for the six cadet positions that were eliminated; and $279,000 for an increase in health insurance costs. The governor’s office will evaluate the appeal, and the case could be reviewed before the entire Florida Cabinet.
