The Pensacola News Journal is reporting that the State will audit the city of Gulf Breeze over its operation of the Tiger Point Golf Club. State Senator Doug Broxson, requested the audit before the Joint Legislative Auditing Committee last week in Tallahassee that will also review the utility rates the city-owned South Santa Rosa Utility System charges residents who live outside city limits. Broxson said his office received a petition with about 400 signatures from residents outside Gulf Breeze city limits questioning the city’s purchase of Tiger Point Golf Club, which includes a section the South Santa Rosa Utility System uses as a spray field for effluent, or sewage water. The committee approved the audit, and it will be conducted and paid for by the Auditor General.
