The United States Supreme Court has refused to take up a challenge to a Florida law that bars people from openly carrying firearms in public. Dale Norman, who had a concealed-weapons license, was arrested in February 2012 in St. Lucie County, for openly carrying a gun in a holster. He was found guilty of a second-degree misdemeanor and paid a $300 fine. Norman challenged the constitutionality of the state’s ban on openly carrying weapons, but the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear the case without explanation.
