The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says a man found dead at the scene of an Escambia County house fire on Monday died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Escambia Fire Rescue responded to the fire in the 1900 block of West Detroit Boulevard. The man’s body was found behind the home. The investigation is being handled by the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
