SUNSHINE VIOLATION COMPLAINT

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is requesting an investigation of the Escambia County Commission for possible Sunshine Law and public records violations because of a closed-door commission meeting back in October violated the law. The county said it was an attorney-client session to discuss the sheriff’s pending budget appeal. The sheriff’s office said that’s only if settlement negotiations or litigation expenses are being discussed. The county has seven days to respond to the complaint.
