The Florida Highway Patrol says Ice on a Highway 29 bridge in McDavid led to a three-vehicle traffic crash and claimed the life of a 73-year-old woman. The accident happened on the northbound Highway 29 bridge over Mitchell Creek, just north of the McDavid Fire Station about 7:45 a.m. Troopers say the driver of a car lost control, slid off the road and hit a tree. A driver in an SUV stopped to assist, and was struck by a truck driven by Mary Adams of Pensacola. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Escambia County EMS. The accident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
