WALTON COUNTY DEPUTY FIRED

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office says one of their deputies was fired yesterday for using his position to contact a woman he helped while on the job. The deputy apparently used his personal phone while off duty on December 18th to make a romantic gesture toward the woman by inquiring about her personal life. A department spokesperson said the deputy had been reprimanded previously for job performance issues. Sheriff Michael Adkinson said swift action was taken because the deputy violated the public trust.
