COMMISSIONER UNDERHILL ETHICS COMPLAINT

The Pensacola News Journal is reporting the Florida Commission on Ethics will hear the results of a preliminary investigation into an ethics complaint filed by former Escambia County Commissioner Wilson Robertson against Commissioner Doug Underhill. Underhill waived his right of confidentiality and provided the News Journal with a copy of the report, which shows the complaint is without merit. Robertson filed the complaint in October after Underhill said he wanted to form a legal defense fund to defend a defamation lawsuit brought by another former county commissioner and Underhill’s 2014 election opponent, Gene Valentino. An attorney with the ethics commission will review the report and make a recommendation to the commission by February 5th.
