MYRTLE GROVE FATAL SHOOTING

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who was shot and killed in Myrtle Grove on Tuesday afternoon. Deputies responded to a call about a shooting off Lillian Highway near North 48th Avenue around 4:30 p.m. and found 27-year-old David Washington dead on the side of the road. Investigators say 22-year-old Lyntonio De’Shawn Quinn is wanted in connection with the shooting. They say Washington and three other people were involved in what appeared to be a drug-related home invasion, deputies said. This is the first homicide of the year in Escambia County and the investigation is continuing.
