JACKSON COUNTY DOCTOR CONVICTED

A Jackson County jury has convicted a former Marianna physician for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy. Doctor David Flick would write prescriptions for controlled substances in exchange for cash or the recruitment of other patients and wrote over 1,000 such prescriptions totaling 49,896 pills during a nine-month period. He was found guilty of trafficking in oxycodone, hydrocodone, and six counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.
