Two people were airlifted to the hospital after a vehicle plunged over 50 feet off a bridge on I-65 north of Atmore Monday night. The Poarch Fire Department had to use ropes to lower themselves down so they could rescue three people from the vehicle. Two were airlifted in critical condition by two different medical helicopters to area hospitals. while a third victim was transported by ambulance. The accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
