The Florida Highway Patrol says the man who crashed into a light pole with his children in the vehicle last November had eight drinks at a Perdido Key bar before getting behind the wheel. 47-year-old Jeffrey Touzet, and his four children were all transported to the hospital following traffic crash on November 10th after he lost control of his vehicle coming off the Theo Baars Bridge in Innarity Point and struck a light pole and the vehicle caught fire. A blood test showed Touzet had a blood alcohol content of .12. After an investigation a warrant was issued for Touzet’s arrest and he turned himself in on January 24th. He was booked into the Escambia County Jail on two counts of DUI causing serious bodily injuries and two counts of DUI with a person under the age of 18 in the car.
