The Pensacola News Journal is reporting items related to the lease of the planned fish hatchery at Bruce Beach have once again been removed from the Pensacola City Council agenda. Councilwoman Sherri Myers was proposing an item to void the hatchery lease or request the city hold a referendum on relocating the hatchery. Councilwoman Jewel Cannada-Wynn and Mayor Ashton Hayward co-sponsored an item in December that would have declared the lease valid. The items were pulled from the agenda after the city attorney said they could complicate the lawsuit filed by two Pensacola property owners over the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s lease for the hatchery.
