Construction on the new Escambia County Jail could begin as soon as April. Whitesell-Green/Caddell here in Pensacola, was awarded the contract and the new facility, will be located at the intersection of Pace Boulevard and Fairfield Drive and will serve as the central booking facility and juvenile housing, replacing the one destroyed in a 2014 explosion. Whitesell-Green has partnered with Caddell Construction Company, based in Montgomery, Alabama, to build the new jail. Construction is expected to take 30 months.
