A long-awaited Florida Department of Transportation study concerning the widening of Highway 90 is set to be released in April. The 1.5 million-dollar, two-year study covers two sections of Highway 90: from Scenic Highway in Escambia County to Santa Rosa County, and from Glover Lane to State Road 87 South in Santa Rosa County. Officials say the widening of Highway 90 would better accommodate projected traffic increases and better serve emergency evacuations. Public hearings will be held Thursday, February 22nd and Tuesday, April 17th.
