ICE PROBLEMS AT BAY CENTER

A leak in a pipe caused problems with the ice at the Pensacola Bay Center that has forced the cancellation of the Ice Flyers three home games Friday through Sunday. The Bay Center is owned by Escambia County and the ice producing equipment was installed in 1996. It has been in need of upgrades for years. The Ice Flyers were to host the Mississippi RiverKings on Friday and Saturday, then the Birmingham Bulls on Sunday. All of those games will have to be rescheduled. Team owner Greg Harris said the team may be able to reschedule those home games in March. The Ice Flyers next home games are scheduled March 2-3.
