Santa Rosa County commissioners may be able to build their new courthouse without a new tax or a voter referendum. The board unanimously agreed to take 20 million dollars from their reserves and borrow an additional 30 million dollars. The new courthouse is expected to cost between 35 and 40 million dollars. The county could put out the call for design-build proposals by the end of the year.
