The Florida House has approved a proposal that would establish daylight-saving time year-round in the state. One of the sposors of the bill said moving to daylight-saving time could help the tourism industry, since people would be able to stay out later in the sunlight. There is a similar bill moving through the Senate. However, even if approved by the Legislature if it would still have to be approved by Congress. Representiaves from Escambia and Santa Rosa County split their votes. District 1 Representative Clay Ingram and District 3 Representative Jayer Williamson voted in favor, while District 2 Representative Frank White voted against.
