MILTON ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED

A suspect in the 2016 attempted armed robbery of an individual outside a Dollar General store in Milton has been arrested by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department. Investigators say 22-year-old Joshua Matthews was wearing a ski mask and was armed with a gun, when he approached an individual outside the business at closing time to try to get inside. There was a struggle and Matthews lost the gun and fled the scene. Matthews was arrested and transported to the Escambia County Jail without incident Wednesday morning and remains in custody without bond.
