ASSAULT WEAPONS BAN

Yesterday the Florida House voted down a move to debate a ban on assault weapons. All three representatives from Escambia and Santa Rosa counties – Frank White, Clay Ingram and Jayer Williamson – voted with their party against the measure. White, who is running for the Republican nomination for attorney general, said in an email to the Pensacola News Journal that he voted against the measure because it was a significant infringement on the Second Amendment and more funding was needed for mental health. The Legislative session ends March 9th and lawmakers won’t be back in town until December.
