ALABAMA ESCAPEE RECAPTURED

An inmate who escaped from a Baldwin County work release center early Sunday morning has been recaptured. The Alabama Department of Corrections said 29-year-old John Johnson, Jr. was reported missing  during an inmate count at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. Walker is serving a 20-year sentence on a first-degree robbery conviction in Montgomery County in 2007. He was recaptured by a K-9 tracking unit without incident at 4:20 a.m. approximately one mile from the Loxley Work Release Center and will be charged with the escape, according to the press release.
