Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson said starting this week, Santa Rosa County will have at least one SWAT team deputy work a day shift every day of the week to provide additional school safety. He said if the Sheriff’s Department receives a call about a threat at a school the SWAT deputy would respond. Currently, 28 of the 37 schools in Santa Rosa County are without the protection of a school resource officer.
