A lockdown at Bailey Middle School and Hellen Caro Elementary School in west Escambia County yesterday morning has resulted in the arrest of a 15-year-old student. The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office said the student is an eighth-grader who made a comment about there being a gun on the campus. Escambia County Sheriff David Morgan said deputies made a search and determined there was no firearm. The student was charged with disruption of a school function. Although the lockdown was lifted dozens of anxious parents showed up to take their children out of the schools.
