Pro-gun lawmakers in Georgia have killed a proposed tax break on jet fuel that would have saved Delta Airlines millions. The action was taken after the airline announced it would no longer offer discount fares to members of the National Rifle Association following the school massacre in South Florida. The tax break was estimated to be worth at least 38 million dollars a year to airlines. Critics of the GOP effort to retaliate against Delta have warned it could backfire by harming Georgia’s ability to lure businesses — including Amazon, which recently named Atlanta a finalist in its search for a second headquarters.
