STORM WATER GRANT

Congressman Matt Gaetz announced Friday an Escambia County stormwater project to improve drainage of the Eleven Mile Creek Basin will receive grant money from the U.S. Treasury Department. Gaetz said the Office of Gulf Coast Restoration will award a $268,800 grant to the County to build storm water ponds to reduce downstream storm water flow rates. The grant started on March 1^st and will allow Escambia County to begin the storm water project and be later be reimbursed.
