With Spring Break underway the Bay County Sheriff’s Office and Panama City Beach Police Department say eight people were charged with possession of alcohol on the beach. Possession of alcohol on the sandy beach is illegal during March in Panama City Beach. The first arrests came Friday when deputies made contact with a group of four women from Indiana and North Carolina, finding bottles of rum and whiskey, as well as cans of beer. On Saturday two 22-year-old men from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, were arrested. Two others were arrested in separate incidents walking along the beach with beer.
