The developer of the Portofino condominium towers and Pensacola Beach leaders have reached a compromise in their property access dispute allowing Escambia County to move forward with a multi-use path. Developer Robert Rinke told Santa Rosa Island Authority board members at a recent meeting he would give the county a 680-square-foot perpetual easement through his property near the Grand Marlin restaurant without asking for anything in return. The County requested that a walking and biking path cross a portion of property owned by Rinke, who bought the former Bonifay Watersports location on Pensacola Beach Boulevard in 2017.
