An accidental triggering of a new active shooter alert app triggered a police response yesterday morning to the Miriam Cherry Street Elementary School in Panama City. The app alerts all law enforcement within a certain radius to a possible active shooter or other emergency at a nearby school. The school said they accidentally triggered the alert. Police from Panama City, Panama City Beach Police, Springfield,  Parker and the Bay County Sheriff’s Office were responding when the alert was cancelled.
