The National Park Service says a small, single-engine Cessna-type aircraft made an emergency landing Tuesday afternoon on Gulf Boulevard in the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The plane landed before 4 p.m. and was pulled off the roadway and into the entrance of Opal Beach located in the Santa Rosa Area of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. A male pilot and one passenger were on the plane when it experienced engine trouble. No injuries were reported and the Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
