Escambia County School district officials say four Pensacola High School students – Three freshmen and one junior – walked out of the school yesterday to protest gun laws in the wake of the mass shooting in South Florida Last month. The students were warned by school officials they could face disciplinary actions. The four walked out of the school’s front doors at 10:17 a.m. and gathered by the flagpole for 17 minutes to honor the 17 victims killed in the shooting. Thomas said he believes the four protesters will receive little to no punishment since they gathered by the flagpole and did not disrupt school activities.
