Cris Dosev has announced he will be running against incumbent Congressman Matt Gaetz in the Republican primary in August. Dosev has collected the required number of signatures to have his name placed on the ballot. Dosev, a Marine veteran and real estate developer, came in 3rd in 2016 with almost 21 percent of the vote in the seven-way race. The deadline for congressional candidates in Florida to qualify by collecting signatures of registered voters is April 2nd. Candidates who don’t gather enough signatures have to pay a $10,440 fee between April 30 and May 4 to get on the ballot for a party primary.
