FLEEING SUSPECT APPREHENDED

Federal and local law enforcement authorities say a 37-year-old man who ran from a traffic stop, caused a car crash and then committed a home invasion. Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies were called to help the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives conduct a traffic stop on Bryant Lee Williams, yesterday afternoon. Williams refused to stop, and deputies eventually discontinued their pursuit. The Florida Highway Patrol said Williams ran a stop sign at Cody Lane and Jernigan Road and collided with a Coca-Cola causing the truck to overturn Williams then fled on foot, dropping a large amount of narcotics of the road. Major Andrew Hobbs said at some point, Willias committed a home invasion near the crash scene while residents were inside. He was apprehended by deputies a short time later and faces multiple felony charges.
