WARRINGTON HOSTAGE SITUATION

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office says a hostage situation at a local motel yesterday ended peacefully. Deputies responded early Tuesday morning to a report of a woman being held hostage at the Motel 6 on New Warrington Road near Chief’s Way. Deputies contacted Roderick Sims, who confirmed a woman was being held against her will. Hostage negotiators were called in and after several hours, Sims surrendered and was arrested without incident. He was booked into the Escambia County Jail on multiple charges including false imprisonment and possessing a stolen gun.
