Florida’s Constitution Revision Commission has voted to send a proposed constitutional amendment that would ban offshore oil drilling and fracking to the Secretary of State to be placed on the November ballot. Proposal 4 was among the eight initiatives approved Monday. The fracking ban would be part of a three-pronged measure that also prohibits vaping indoors. The Commission has come under fire for grouping more than a dozen different ideas into seven separate proposals for voters to consider. The amendments must receive 60 percent of the vote to be adopted and inserted into the Florida Constitution.
