ARMED COUPLE ARRESTED

Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man and woman outside an Escambia County school on Tuesday. Deputies went to the Florida Institute of Ultrasound on University Parkway after receiving information that a male and female were on their way to the institute with a gun. 52-year-old Mark and 41-year-old Mary Kinney were apprehended before they entered the building. A handgun was found in Mark Kinney’s waistband and a plastic baggie with white residue – which tested positive for methamphetamine – was found in his shirt pocket. Both were charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mark Kinney, was also charged with possession of a concealed firearm. They remain in the Escambia County Jail.
