The Department of Veterans Affairs says prescription pickup will end at Eglin Air Force Base’s outpatient clinic on April 27th as the facility continues its switch to a “first-fill” contract. Prescriptions for medications a veteran needs immediately will have to be filled through local retail pharmacies. Prescriptions for chronic long-term conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol will continue to be provided through the VA’s mail-out pharmacy services and sent directly to veterans’ home addresses.
