A Navy petty officer assigned to Eglin Air Force base is part of a federal lawsuit challenging president Trump’s ban on transgender people serving in the military. Petty officer second class, Phillip Stephens has served in the Navy for almost 6 years as a structural mechanic and used to be known as Felicia, but after President Obama lifted the ban on transgender troops, he came out as a transgender man. Stephens is now a part of a federal lawsuit trying to reverse the ban. A trial date has not yet been set.
