The Crestview Police Department said an officer-involved shooting on Saturday left a homeowner injured. Shortly after 2:30 a.m. officers responded to a report of an open door at a home in the 100 block of Bronze Circle. Officers arrived and rang the doorbell, knocked, and called for anyone inside. When there was no reply officers entered the home when a man – later identified as the owner of the home – walked out of a bedroom with a firearm in his hand. The officer fired his weapon and hit the man in the leg. The man was taken to the North Okaloosa Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the shooting.
