The publication, Military Times, says former Congressman Jeff Miller is a candidate for the position of Veterans Affairs Secretary. Rear Admiral Ronny Jackson, a Navy doctor, withdrew his name from the nomination process yesterday. While in Congress Miller served as the Chairman of Veteran Affairs before deciding not to seek re-election after more than 16 years in Washington. Robert Wilkie, also a nominee for the job, is serving as acting VA Secretary following the firing of David Shulkin.
