MEDICAL EXAMINER FINANCES EXAMINED

The Okaloosa County Commission will not endorse the reappointment of longtime District 1 Medical Examiner, Dr. Andrea Minyard, because of long-delayed autopsies, high costs and other concerns. The commission also directed staff to obtain copies of the Medical Examiner’s Office’s financial records. Minyard said she is a private individual doing business as Gulf Coast Autopsy Physicians and her professional fees are income and how she chooses to spend her income is her business. Minyard’s current term expires July 1^st and the Florida Medical Examiners Commission will decide whether to recommend whether she be reappointed.
