A woman accused of killing her infant baby girl has been convicted of first-degree murder in Okaloosa County. Tonisha Crowell gave birth to the baby girl in 2014 and then put the seven-pound infant in a trash bag outside her home. She was eventually found and taken to the emergency room where she was pronounced dead. The defense argued that Crowell thought the baby was dead when she disposed of the body. The jury deliberated for about two and a half hours before returning their guilty verdict and Crowell was sentenced to twenty-five years in prison.
