OKALOOSA COUNTY SKIMMER ARREST

Eglin Federal Credit Union employees helped Okaloosa County deputies arrest two men believed to be installing skimming devices on ATMs. An employee inspecting the ATM at the Eglin Credit Union in Navarre located a skimmer, a device which records credit card data and PIN numbers, installed on the ATM. The technician saw a man standing by a grey vehicle across the street watching him inspect the ATM. He notified the Oklaloosa County Sheriff’s Department and deputy pulled  the vehicle over on Highway 98 It was driven by Florin Bersanu with Viorel Naboiu in the passenger seat. It is believed the data captured was used to make fraudulent purchases between April 27th and May 5th. Both are being held without bond in the Okaloosa County Jail. The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are also investigating.
