CHARGES UPGRADED

The State Attorney’s Office has upgraded the charges for the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office crime scene technician accused of stealing narcotics from the Sheriff’s Department’s evidence room. 41-year-old Christine Rollins was arrested May 18th. Now State Attorney Bill Eddins said the original charges have been increased since Rollins is now accused of stealing more than 400 hydrocodone pills. Rollins is now charged with one count of trafficking hydrocodone over 200 grams, one count of trafficking oxycodone over 14 grams, 11 counts of possession of a controlled substance and 11 counts of grand theft. Rollins remains in the Escambia County Jail on a $313,000 bond.
