ALBERTO

Subtropical Storm Alberto made landfall just west of Panama City Beach, around 4 p.m. yesterday with maximum sustained winds of 45 miles-per-hour. The storm is expected to steadily weaken as it moves inland and it is expected to become a subtropical depression. The storm was further to the east than first forecast which meant the impact on the western end of the Florida Panhandle was minimal. However, high surf, strong rip currents were present and flash flood warnings could last for the next few days.
