Florida’s Hurricane Preparedness, Sales-Tax holiday starts Friday, just in time for the start of the 2018 hurricane season. State and local sales taxes will be lifted on a list of disaster supplies from June 1st to June 7th. Some of the items Floridians can buy without paying sales taxes include portable self-powered light sources that cost $20 or less, portable self-powered radios, two-way radios, or weather band radios that cost $50 or less, tarps or other waterproof sheeting the cost $50 or less, gasoline or diesel fuel tanks that cost $25 or less, and portable generators that cost $750 or less.
